Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - How to Rebuild Your Nissan/Datsun OHC Engine: Covers L-Series Engines 4-Cylinder 1968-1978, 6-Cylinder 1970-1984
Tom Monroe has given us a great deal of information on the L-series engines in this volume. Arranged in a logical and user-friendly manner, the text covers the rebuilding of these engines completely. The manual is based on rebuilding the 4 cylinder L-series, but the author has managed to include all necessary information on the L-6 in a lucid and easy to use manner. This manual, along with the "How to Modify" manual by Frank Honsowetz, is an absolutely essential addition to the Datsun Z car library.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - How to Rebuild Your Nissan/Datsun OHC Engine
Cover most of the items a person needs to know in order to properly rebuild a Datsun engine. The only item I needed that was not posted was a list of pin heights for the available pistons. If I had that info I would have given the book a "5" rating.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A good guide to rebuilding Datsun/Nissan engines.
If you own any Datsun/Nissan with any L-series engine and you need to know if it needs a rebuild then this book will tell you what you need to know.Find out what's wrong first before you decide what to do.This book is a great guide to these engines. For those who like working on cars this book will help you along the way.Good value.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great But Limited to Older Engines
This excellent book does NOT cover all Nissan overhead cam engines, only the now-ancient L types. Since the title addresses overhead cam engines and the current edition is 1998, I had hoped my 1989 GA16i overhead cam engine would be covered. It isn't. So, if you have a newer Nissan engine, buy this book anyway for the great advice and techniques but also get a separate shop manual for your engine. And I hope the author will update this book soon to cover the newer engines.
