Editorial Review: Amazon.com: Originally broadcast on CBS in March 2002, 9/11 is an extraordinary record of that fateful day in New York City. This one-of-a-kind documentary was originally conceived as a portrait of 21-year-old Tony Benetatos, a firefighter trainee at Manhattan's Duane Street firehouse, located seven blocks from the World Trade Center. By the time filming was finished, brothers Jules and Gedeon Naudet had captured history in the making, including the only image of the first jetliner striking Tower 1, and the only footage from within the tower as it collapsed. This is not, however, a film about the murderous nightmare of terrorism. It's the ultimate rite-of-passage drama, more immediate and meaningful than any fiction film could be, with Benetatos and his supportive colleagues emerging as heroes of the first order. Sensitively narrated by codirector and fellow firefighter James Hanlon, 9/11 will endure forever as a tribute to those, living and dead, who witnessed hell on that sunny Tuesday morning. --Jeff Shannon Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - AwesomeI have seen many documentaries on 9/11. All of them have moved me in different ways. This particular documentary especially moved me because not only was this not supposed to be a documentary about 9/11, it also took you right inside what was going on and how those fighfighters were feeling and experiencing everything on that terrible day. I would recommend this to anyone! Rating: - Amazing first hand account 9/11I saw this documentary not long after 9/11 and thought it was a very powerful video. I am glad it came out for us to purchase. It gives us an up-close view of what it was like to be at ground zero and what the emotions were of the firefighters that responded to this horrible crime against America. This is a "must have" video so that we always remember the horrible events of that day. Rating: - Outstanding DocumentaryThanks to the efforts of these documentary filmmakers who were there with the firefighters as events unfolded, this powerful documentary is outstanding and, in my opinion, historically significant. These are the people who were there, their actions, their thoughts, their feelings. This is the one video that is a must have. Rating: - The Accidental DocumentaryA brilliant record of the atmosphere in one New York City firehouse in the weeks leading up to September 11. It documents the day right from the first glimpse of the first plane to hit and what was going on at the command post inside the north tower. The camera man films as he flees from the collapses and after the dust settles inside the firehouse, the aftermath. A sobering film to watch, but a very well made documentary about that awful day. If this interests you I recommend it. Rating: - COULD NOT WATCH ITCOULD NOT WATCH THE FILM - WRONG REGION. VERY FRUSTARTING AS STATED LIVED IN THE UK. HOW CAN IT BE EXCHANGED.
