I own several Jewel CD's and I thought, because I do like country music, that I would like this CD. I didn't think it had that much of a country sound, and it is a little boring to listen to. I listened to it about 3 or 4 times and don't think I will listen to it anymore.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A turn toward country, a look back to her roots
Jewel is at her best when she's singing pop folk. She is a fantastic singers and an accomplished songwriter. Perfectly Clear though, takes Jewel out of her groove and back to her roots. Her father is a cowboy singer-songwriter, so it makes sense she'd try her hand in country music.

Jewel's seventh album is not her best, however. You really have to be into country music to like/love this one. As someone who enjoys country music, I enjoyed this, but I'm not sure mainstream Jewel fans will love this one. The good: the album is well produced and not overly done. Jewel's voice is clear and strong.

Recommended for Jewel fans who don't mind a little country.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad oh and also Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad, Very Sad too.
Well yes it is Sad. You become a product of your surroundings. This is a case of someone consuming another and destroying who she is to become. She gets married or dates the bumbkin and then this is what you get. Jewel liking a guy is that is different is GREAT, but losing who you are in the process is VERY UNHEALTHY!!!! This is what happens. Now this guy is dating a GAL-Jewel that is not anything like him. So there is the interest. Now she likes him so much she tries to be like him and eventually IS like him - the guy has no more interest and they gonna be divorced in no time at all folks. Yepp tats right y'all. Hey country music is for maudlin people that have problems with booze, trashy women, and dead dogs. I like Jewel as a person and if she wants to do this GREAT. Just don't forget about the city folk. If jewel plays mostly this garbage at her concerts, well I won't be going again. Hopefully she will keep it limited and keep or reclaim her OWN IDENTITY. Afterall, ya know he's ganna be cheatn on that poor gal soon enough and then she aint gonna be worshiping him no more. Sad, we loved you Jewel. Almost like she died.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Jewel? more like Joke.
Okay, I don't like the cd. I think Jewel squeaks out the words in an incredibly annoying high-pitched voice. I think she has no talent as a singer and is pushed onto CMT and on coutry radio by her managment, much to the dismay of the public. I personally do not know anybody who likes her music, and i can't image how she got such great reviews on here.
