DVD : The Wire - The Complete Fifth SeasonIn association with Amazon.comRating:  - still a great showstory takes a little while to get going, but once it does you're hooked again. Rating:  - Excellent finale seasonGreat price on brand new "The Wire" season 5 - the final season. After watching seasons 1 - 4 in the months before, on DVD - I was very anxious to see the final season and was thrilled that everything was wrapped up nicely. A few cast members don't make it until the end - but that was to be expected in this wonderful crime drama, set in the hard streets of Baltimore (not all streets there are hard!! as it's a nice city!!) - but the writers/producers found a way to tie up all loose ends to the viewers' satisfaction. Amazon is a great place to order Video movies and books. Thanks for the speedy delivery. I will shop again. Rating: - The WIRE - Complete fifth seasonMy used boxed set of the WIRE was received in excellent condition. I am very pleased with my purchase. Rating: - So long to the bestSo long to the best television ever. Gritty, real, dynamic. Acting that feels like no acting at all, characters that walk in from off the street and move you whether you want to be or not. I could go on watching it forever but it ended well and I'm not sure if I could have stayed with it. It was like carrying baggage. I don't think anything else will ever move me as this but it is a relief to have closure. Season Five was just as good at the previous four and left us with a catharsis that will make you question what is good, what is moral, and if the world we live in is governed by correct laws. In short, fantastic. Do not purchase this series without starting at the beginning. Start with the beginning and be prepared to be wowed by yet another fabulous production from the genius of Ed Burns. |
