Baby : Twilight Turtle Constellation NightlightIn association with Amazon.comRating: - Early to bed for my 6 year old!I originally purchased this item for my almost 7-year old who was having issues falling asleep at night. He insisted on leaving the lights up high at bedtime because he was afraid and had problems winding down at night. He claimed his brain would start thinking about scarey things when he tried to go to bed and prefered to 'read' himself to sleep with the lights on. This resulted in a way too late bedtime! We finally decided we had to find a way to make 'lights out time' fun. This did the trick. We now have 'turtle time' by a certain time at night and can shut off the lights with no problem. We also play a sound machine that has crickets chirping and other night time sounds, so he feels like he is out camping under the stars in the comfort of his own bed. (crickets would keep me up personally, but he loves them for some reason!) The negatives: the amber color doesn't work well in his room and it is best if the room is very dark for the other two colors. If our hall light is on, he can't see the stars very well. Room placement for optimal viewing can be tricky, but it works well overall. This has helped with our sleep issues and we even took it to grandma's house when we traveled. It was easy to toss in the car. I just received turtle number 2 for my 2.5 year old and he is so excited to have a turtle like big brother. It just arrived today and his room is too light at naptime, so we'll see how bedtime goes tonight! Hopefully this will hush our guy who recently started finding every excuse in the book to get us back into is room at night! Rating: - BEST nightlight...EVERMy parents bought this for my son as a Christmas present and it wins the award as best gift. Now our son, age 4, actually asks to go to bed so he can see his stars. Plus...his younger sister, age 2 1/2, wants one when she moves into a big girl bed. It's incredible. They even play with it under the covers to "make a tent and see the stars" both before bedtime and in the morning. They really, really, really love it and I highly recommend it to every parent who wants a little extra light in their kids room. It automatically shuts off after 20 minutes so it doesn't eat batteries. We've used ever night for over a month and haven't had to change them yet. A great gift for kids. We haven't gotten to the constellation thing yet but I'm sure that's cool too. Definitely "BUY" this if you're even thinking about it. |
