These, however, both leak. It appears the cylinder and base do not attach tightly enough to prevent leakage. Very disappointing. Rating:  - Convenient to fill and easy to cleanAfter using a funnel to fill small-mouthed feeders and trying to find a brush to clean them out, this feeder is a most welcome change. It is very easy to fill and clean. I would like to see an addition to the hanging system as it is hard to hang on my feeder holders (shepherd's hooks). I have semi-solved this problem by filling the feeder and hanging it from an upside-down position. Rating: - Perky Pet 220 Grand MasterI have one I've used for years with no problems at all. The large capacity is great when you're overwhelmed with birds. So many hummers this year I ordered a couple more. Also I've had no trouble keeping this feeder clean if you use any little brush that will reach in the bottom tray. Easier than most feeders I've tried. Rating:  - The only game in townI used to have the 96OZ feeders which the birds would empty in one day during breeding season but Perky Pet stopped making it. The 48OZ Perky Pet feeder is my only alternative. I have 2 feeders. I fill the both the base and container of empty feeder with water and Dawn detergent and let it soak over night. This works out well. I have had a stable population of birds over 15 years. I would prefer a feeder with a glass container with the same wide mouth as the plastic container for easy cleaning. A glass or ceramic base would also be an improvement but would probably be cost prohibitive. Rating:  - NOT MY FAVORITE FEEDERFor a feeder to be this size, it needs to be more sturdily constructed. Perky Pet has some fine products. This is not one of them. The container is easy to clean, but it's made of plastic that does not hold up over time. The "connectors" which hold the resovoir to the base become brittle and crack, or break off, rendering the product useless. The little feeder perches are a real joke. They broke off before one season was over. What is the point of the larger container? Despite its size, there are still only 6 feeder ports. For just a little more than price of this one feeder, you can purchase 2 30-oz feeders, double the number of ports, and increase the liquid offering by about 20%. I do not recommend this feeder. However the Perky Pet's 30-oz glass feeder is a very good product. |
