Good little unit, the only draw back is you have to get down on your hands and knees to read it. It would be nice if it could retain data for a few a little while so you could take it out to read it.

Everyone needs this monitor. When complaining about the cost of power bills you might be shocked to find out how much your are paying just for technology you have plugged in around your house and not being used. As Vice Chair of the Efficiency and Conservation Sub Committee for the State of Alabama we are looking at implementing a technology call "GreenSwitch". GreenSwitch will turn off all lights, turn up or down theromstats, and turn off all electrical outlets when you are not home or "retired for the night". We were absolutely shocked at how much "vampire power" is being "sucked" out of hour homes. The DOE says this is 10%-15% of our powerbills. We highly recommend all states adopt this technology. It is simple and it works. Everyone knows how to turn a switch on or off. That is all you have to do with this technology (GreenSwitch).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Tool!
This little guy is awesome for rating power consumption! I plugged a small power strip into it, and connected a computer with dual flat-panel monitors, and rated overall power consumption over a day! Using this utility, you can really see how much power your items are taking up, and how much money they are costing you per hour! (Also, a cool thing to check is how much power things use while off! You would be amazed!)

The interface is simple, and easy to use! Everyone should keep one in their house, and use it!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great little device. Footprint needs updating
Purchased this to get an idea of device loads.. and particularly vampire loads. It helped me identify which were the worst offenders, and with some devices, interestingly, there was zero draw when off. This was the case with my 7+ yo TV. It's definitely a handy gadget.

The one issue I have with it is the footprint. It's sized just big enough that it covers at least one open plug when you plug the unit in. If they fixed that it'd be a 5-star.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Kill A Watt Is More Than Advertised
I bought this to determine Kw usage around the home and it really does work. I also used it to teach my 7 year old about current, voltage, and watts.
Well worth the money.
