Books : HMS BEAGLE: Survey Ship Extraordinary (Anatomy of the Ship)In association with Amazon.comRating:  - Another good Anatomy of the Ship bookWhile this is another great book in the series, I found it lacking in several departments when compared to other such books. Of course it must be understood that not a great deal of hard evidence is available on this ship as there is on the USS Constitution or the HMS Victory (which both still exist). In a couple of cases, the author seemed to place items on the ship to ease the making of the model rather than to conform to the facts available from other sources. Nevertheless, if a single point of reference is needed for the HMS Beagle, this is, without a doubt, the best available. |
