The only directions are on the CD itself, which are not too hard to follow. I guess this is how old-fashioned I am. If anyone is a typist, you can follow the instructions quite well and figure out what to click on to get around. I started with recipes from parents and grandparents, but I am having just as much fun getting recipes from my kids. First of all, it didn't even come with any sort of plastic sleeve which made me feel like I had just purchased a bootlegged copy of something. Which by the way would of been about 1/6 of the cost.
