Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Canon looked to the very first ELPH for inspiration when designing the PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH, and came up with a quintessential iteration of the icon: slim, clean-lined and fully flat. Inside, the SD1000 Digital ELPH looks only to the future: 7.1 megapixels, a 3x optical zoom and advanced DIGIC III ensure top-quality images, while focus is fast and sharp and red-eye is automatically corrected. The large and more colorful LCD screen now has a tough, anti-reflective coating that makes it as durable as it is beautiful.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Essential Camera
I love this camera because it's so small that I can take it anywhere, even in a very small purse or even a clutch. I've had it for just under a year and have yet to experience a problem. It's lightweight and sleek and comes packed with different modes and functions. The only thing I can say about this camera that bothers me is that it takes a bit of fiddling for it to capture dark skin tones indoors without the aid of flash. The 'dark skin' setting actually hasn't been a help. But otherwise, this ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Camera, video feature is the best
This is a great overall camera for our family for a great deal. It is small, feels relatively sturdy compared to my previous cameras, and has all the basic feasture that I need in a camera. It also has good battery life, and you can easily purchase spare rechargeably batteries on Ebay. Since it has so many features, sometimes its difficult to get to what you want quickly, but I think Canon did the best they could.

The one feature that I was most pleased with was the video feature ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awsome pictures, Great Videos
This is the best point-and-shoot camera which gives you picture quality as good as Digital SLRs. I have used many other camera's but never got the picture and video quality as good as this one.

Its has so many great features, including the color accent, color swap, black & white picture, and the time lapse movie mode which makes it the coolest camera ever.

Its is so easy to use that even an novice can take professional quality pictures in minutes. The battery never disappoints ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Nice camera but very fragile
Read the other reviews for info about image quality and such. I am very satisfied with the photos that I have taken with my camera and I especially like the built in panorama mode which allows you to take a series of shots and stitch them together to create a panorama. However, I have had my camera for a little over a year and it has broken 4 times - 3 times the lens would not retract and once the lcd screen cracked. I have an extended warranty that covered all of these problems but each time it breaks, I ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - fantastic but a little slow
for the sice the quality is great but the camera needs a little bit longer to be ready again than I was used to.
Also the small battery is holding up about 4 hours so you should buy a 2 one just in case.
