I'm not 100% sure that it is actually cleaning all dust and all that, but it still goes trough a filter. I also dont think that the ionizer does much/ or anything, but then again I can't really tell the difference. For $60 I say get this air purifier. I use it in my bedroom, and have run it 24/7 for at least three weeks on low - turning it up once in awhile when I cook something strong smelling.
