In 1942, Russell Gray and Robert Cone formed Graco Metal Products, in Philadelphia, PA. For 11 years, the firm fabricated machine and car parts for local manufacturers. In 1953, Gray left the firm, leaving Cone as sole owner. Cone decided to manufacture his own line of products, but had trouble coming up with ideas. Enter David Saint, an engineer, tinkerer, and stained glass artisan who worked for Graco. Saint, himself a father of nine, was intrigued when an associate told him how his wife would soothe their tired and cranky baby while swinging in a backyard glider swing. Acting on this inspiration, he went to the drawing board and 18 months of hard work later, the world's first wind-up infant swing, the Graco Swyngomatic, was born.  Rating:  - Great playard. Period!Cool brown color, even though my kid does not like dark colors he's pretty confortable with it. Strong built. Lots of functionality. My kid just pop his eys with the vibration stuff. lol The one thing I don't like is the sounds are not too loud. It is good during the night but not during the day. Rating:  - Great product could use some upgrades...We recieved this as a gift, my son is now 10 weeks old and it's gotten daily use since we brought him home from the hospital. The changing table is kinda useless, it hurts my back to much and it tilts inward to much for my liking, so instead it gets used for storage with extra blankets, diapers, wipes, etc. The mobile is useless, it doesn't move unless you do it yourself, i think that if Graco can get the music box connected to the vibration unit they could get this connected to make it a little ... Read More Rating: - Definately worth the moneyWe love this pack and play. The bassinet with changing table have been the best things for our newborn. It is great having everything right in your room. I didn't think that we would use the vibrate function or the sounds, but she loves it! I highly recommend this item! Rating: - useless featuresIt was easy to assemble (took me 10 minutes when I was 38 w pregnant). It's lightweight and can be easily moved around. The vibration feature seems unnatural, I'm not sure it's safe for a newborn (as I use it as a temporary crib), the light is very dim (not sufficient to change the baby diaper in the night!). The baby seems to enjoy the music feature. The toy is completely ignored by the baby. It's a good playard (I trust Graco products), but a simpler model would have been better. Rating: - GreatWell I couldn't beat the price or free shipping....it matched the collection (we bought the travel stroller) The colors are terrific for boy or girl!
