But in this case, Apple shortened the warranty by 3 months because, according to Apple, Amazon purchased the computer from Apple in May and the warranty started when Amazon bought the computer to resell instead of when I bought the computer from Amazon. Is this crazy or what? I bought the computer brand new from Amazon. The warranty should have started on the day on which I purchased it! In reality I should have given it only 2 stars. Rating:  - A waste of money, just buy a decent protective case instead and get ready to replace your battery in 3 yrs regardless.Just pay for the iPod using a credit card that offers some kind of damage and theft protection instead of paying Apple for useless tech support and the privilege of receiving another defective iPod to replace the one they just sold you and the precious Apple Care warranty. Apple tech support is worthless since their most common solution is just reset the iPod and if that doesn't fix it, then just format it and restore it back to factory defaults.
