It works by absorbing rainwater and then responds by interrupting power to the valves. The rain sensor will then gradually dry out, as does the soil, allowing sprinklers to run as scheduled. Rain sensitivity can be adjusted from 1/8 to 1 inch. Requiring no tools, this system is easy to install by using the Quick Clip gutter bracket. The rain sensor includes 25 feet of UL rated connection wire for connecting the sensor and the controller.  Rating: - Toro Wired Rain Sensor is AwesomeI replaced my Hunter wired sensor that has been "baked" almost since the day I installed it. It just never worked right. The Houston, Texas sun and humidity may have something to do with this. This Toro wired rain sensor is awesome. It took 10 minutes to install and works! I am using it with a Toro controller and that may be the reason it's superior over the Hunter. I feel this sensor is a great value and I strongly recommend it!
