Canon makes an upgraded leather strap for the Powershot S3IS but I did not like the looks of it either. I bought this a strap at a camera store the salesman allowed me to try it on before buying it. The supplied neck strap is simple, basic, and advertises Canon boldly. That may be okay if you don't make much use of the strap or use light weight lenses.
