And it works well for that purpose. Escort advises that mounting the detector on the visor will reduce laser detection due to the tint on the windshield. However, I have a hard time with suction cups in the winter. This product lets me securely mount the detector until the windshield warms up enough to use the suction cups. Rating:  - Waste of money.Don't waste your money, buy the suction cups. Besides the radars come with mounts. You will understand after you read the book that comes with the radar.
