Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It worked!
I bought this for some extra security for our house. Read that most breakins are caused by the door being kicked in. Long story short, my husband had the garage door opener which prevented me from using our back door. So, totally forgetting we had the security bar in place on the front door....I tried to open the door and couldn't budge it at all!! Well worth the less than $20 I spent on it for some extra piece of mind.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Wrong Item
I was surprised that this security bar was limited in the size. I have a doggie door in the patio frame, so my patio glass door does not close to the full length of the door frame. The security bar would not become small enough.

The product was very well made and felt very strong. I would have been very happy with it but for the doggie door.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Door Bar Failed on Forced Entry
Keep in mind that this bar is only a deterrent that will slow a burglar, but not stop them. I had this door bar installed at the front entrance. The garage door did not open with the remote, so I had to go in through the front house door.

It held for a while, but I was able to lean into the door several times and finally, the pop pins bent and failed, and the the bar fell onto the floor. Although I was thankful at the time, I realized that this device is usefull to slow someone down, ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A good way to add a layer of security.
We bought this and use it as a tension bar in our sliding glass door. My concern was our toddler getting out and no one hearing him. We did the dowel in the bottom track and he figure it out pretty quickly. So this is jammed up high and it is pretty easy to get out and put back in.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It keeps the kid in!
This product does what it says it will do. It's a no-muss, easy install, and it definitely keeps the door closed and keeps my preschooler (who can unlock our patio door) IN. It's also easy to pull out when we need to use the door.

EDIT: The plastic foot on this stopper broke recently when it fell out of the patio door (I assume). Seems like it should be able to hold up better than that, but it's probably glueable and still a good product.
