Not only is it wonderful to have a nylon knife for cutting lettuce (to avoid browning), but it is great for cutting into a nonstick pan. For example, if you make lasagne, fudge, a 9x13" cake, or any one of a number of things that might be made in a nonstick baking pan and you need to cut portions right out of the pan.
