Editorial Review:

Album Description:
All of Bjork's biggest hits and best-known songs, the songs that are sure to be familiar even to people who think they don't know Bjork's music, plus one track recorded for this release, 'It's In Our Hands'. Compiled by fans in a unique website vote. Gatefold sleeve. Elektra. 2002.

Amazon.com:
Compiled via a fan survey conducted on her Web site, Björk's Greatest Hits eschews presenting the tracks in chronological order, making for a jumbled ride through the vocalist's unique, twisted, and frequently brilliant discography. A few welcome surprises surface, including EP remixes, a rarity (the 1993 David Arnold collaboration "Play Dead"), and the previously unreleased "It's in Our Hands," a clever blip-pop number that would have fit nicely on either 1997's Homogenic or 2001's Vespertine. Starting off with a dreamy remix of "All Is Full of Love," the collection contrasts giddy dance-pop like "Hyperballad" (from the wonderful Post) with the brooding thump of "Army of Me" and Debut's "Human Behaviour," while injecting liberal doses of experimental ballads such as "Joga" and "Pagan Poetry." Some choices will grate on the nerves of purists (the sans strings mix of "Hyperballad"), and it would have been nice to hear something from Selmasongs, but with Björk's incredibly consistent discography to work from, it's impossible to screw up a retrospective compilation such as this. --Matthew Cooke

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - woooha
cant explain it, she is the weirdest artist i have ever seen (on videos) yet she manages to capture my mind and entrance it like no one else with her hipnotic voice and music.....is it just me? and im one who likes hard core rock and metal...yet she grabs me??
simply one of a kind....if your one of those who hate it....drink some beers and if your in love - you'll see paradise open right before your shut out eyes............ sweet dreams and good riddance - worth a try

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - All the Bjork you will ever need.
"Great Hits" contains all the best of Bjork without the filler. This compilation contains the best tracks from each of Bjork's first three albums. So if you are new to this artist then opt for this title and ignore Debut, Post, and Homogenic. However, there are some good tracks on Vespertine that didn't make the cut which would make that album the only one worth considering for purchase. Sadly, the few noteworthy songs Bjork has released since this compilation are Oceania, Earth Intruders, and the ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Greatest musical gift I have ever received
Having always known of Bjork growing up, I was always strangely fascinated by her. I never really knew of any Bjork music, and that of which I had heard once off on alternative radio and such, I did not care for. I received this as a gift, and had to act happy that I got it as It really wouldn't of been my first choice, but as I gave it a listen, and then listened some more I became addicted to it, and Bjork has since become my favourite recording artist or all time. Happy story!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It's a Starter CD for Begginers to Bjork
All of the songs here are amazing, thats why they're hits right? Another good thing, she let her fans decide what songs should go on here. But I was disappionted that she only put the singles up, songs like Unravled, It's Not Up To You, Crying, and Unison should've been on here. Even though it's a great collection, it's a collection for starters to Bjork.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Pretty good but not perfect
Bjork is definitely one of those artists whom you either love or hate. Bjork has a voice that will either make people happy or make them stuff cotton balls into their ears. I am not wildly crazy about Bjork since I find some of her songs absolutely annoying as heck (especially her the one album she did without any instruments). Her greatest hits compilation is absolutely perfect for me because it has most of my favorite songs by Bjork (with the exception of "It's Oh So Quiet", which I admit irks me that ... Read More
