Editorial Review: Amazon.com essential video: This obligatory girls' version of Stand by Me begins with actors Melanie Griffith, Rita Wilson, Demi Moore, and Rosie O'Donnell doing a lousy job of playing adult versions of the film's youthful protagonists. The idea is that this quartet of characters is having a reunion, which serves as a preface to the main story about school chums who make a pact to stay close and supportive through thick and thin. The trouble is that Griffith, Moore, Wilson, and O'Donnell look like they've rehearsed their scenes for no more than a few minutes, and after boring us silly there's little reason to get excited about anything else. Still, it's nice to have a supporting cast that includes Janeane Garofalo and Bonnie Hunt, while among the girls are three young actresses who have been burning up the road in recent years: Christina Ricci (The Opposite of Sex), Thora Birch (A Clear and Present Danger), and Gaby Hoffmann (Strike). --Tom Keogh Average Rating:
 Rating:  - Best Movie Everthis movie is just extraordinary seriously its about a friendship that never ends and they are there for each other in the good and bad times it is sooo funny and touching Rating:  - Now and ThenI ordered a second Now and Then right after I got my first one but it was used in great condition and they got the money but I still haven't gotten the movie!! What can I do about this? I will never buy used again, can't trust people. Rating: - Great Movie ....great memories!!I love this movie!! I watch it with my kids , 21 and 18 , and they laugh when I get excited about the clothes...the bikes....the ponchos !! It is just a big reminder of my childhood. Now the music ...it just makes you want to dance...my kids even added the soundtrack to the ipods. It is one of those movies that make you happy and can be enjoyed over and over. Rating: - Not complicated!Now and ThenI was hesitant at first when I came to amazon because I wasn't sure how easy it would be to order things and get them. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to create an account, purchase items and have them delivered. I was very pleased with the movies I bought and I will continue to order from amazon. Rating: - Now and ThenThis movie intertwines the fabric of adulthood with the memories and shared events of childhood among 4 girls and their life journies ....things we take with us and things left behind ...I am fortunate to have 3 girlfriends like those in the movie and we continue to celebrate our friendships and life paths over 34 years now ...and I sent them each a copy of this DVD for our 56th birthdays this year ...
