![]() Rating: - E30 M42 information found in this manualBentley manuals offer the best comprehensive information you need to DIY your car. This E36 manual has information on the M42 engine that was available in the E30 318i, 318ic, and 318iS in 1991. If you have an E30 with the M42, I suggest buying this manual as well as the E30 specific Bentley manual. If you plan on maintaining your M42 engine yourself then you will need this manual. Rating: - A must haveFor anyone given to making simple or even complicated repairs, or routine maintenance work, this book is a must have. Well documented, well pictured and well written. It's as good as it gets short of the factory manuals which are not usually available in printed form, at reasonable cost to retail customers. Rating: - Not as good as it is thick. The book is fine for doing basic maintance. Changing the oil. Replacing shocks that kind of thing. However there is NO and I mean NO information for more advanced mechanics like rebuilding the steering rack, Transmission, Clutch master or slave cyl etc. It is a thick book but surprisingly donesn't seem to have any more information than a haynes manual (I have both). I'd say buy the haynes and save some $. Rating: - Lots of pages, very little diagnostic informationBeing an advid Bently fan, I was truely disappointed with with this publication for the E36. While volumious, the manual offers little in diagnostic procedures, fault diagnosis, clear procedures, and insight. The illustrations are vague at best and the text tends to gloss over much of the components if addresed at all. Granted that if you have no clue on how things come apart, or to gain access to components, the book will give you a starting point. But for real diagnostic work, it fails to explain ... Read More Rating: - satisfied customerthe manual has become very helpful for minor repair jobs, and the placement of various parts. I recently was able to help my boyfriend via phone while he was out of town give him directions on how to take his back seat out; the diagrams and detailed info is very helpful. I just wish that there were more pictures to accompany the written instructions. Browse for similar items by category:
