A very young Lawrence Fisbourne flexing his acting chops even back then. Rating: - Lawrence Fishborne is the star!!Lawrence Fishborne is the star in this movie, even thought the star is suppose to be the basketball player (who was an actual NBA star at that time) Lawrence steals the show. He did a great job. I would watch over and over. Rating: - Mixed BlessingsGiven the era and how so many films are degraded as blaxploitation, this was one that shouldn't carry that burden. The theme of "us against the man" was explored in a different way as no one picked up a gun and began blazing through the streets. A young Black Man that could have made it through ball but was killed along with the dream; this was told on film and in real life in different ways that were so similiar: Cochise in Cooley High, Ben Wilson in Chicago.
