Rating: - A great reissue. . .If you grew up with Free to Be You and Me, the cover of the reissue will throw you for a loop. Gone is the pretty pink cover with it's patchwork cover and in it's place is a more fanciful and less pink cover. This book contains all the stories and poems from the book and DVD, and even includes a CD of some of the songs. Marlo Thomas adds an introduction, encouraging kids to make good use of this book. I think it is so positive in teaching them that it is alright to be who they are and that they don't have to fit into a mold. Ms Thomas did a wonderful job on this book 35 years ago and it still works for children today. Rating: - Excellent book for "Tweens"I ordered this book for my 10 year old grandaughter after seeing Marlow Thomas on the Today show discussing it. It is absolutely wonderful. It discusses many things that seem to be problems in that age group...e.g. brothers and sisters, mean kids, divorce, and so on. All in a very understandable format.
