Editorial Review: Product Description: Following the success of her recent stand–alone novel, White Chocolate Moments, bestselling author Lori Wick returns to delight readers with a new series set in the vast open places of Montana. Token Creek, Montana Territory, 1880—Cassidy Norton is a fine seamstress who makes her living sewing for others. Amid the bustle of a busy frontier town, her life is rich. What time her business doesn’t take, her friends and church family fill. But Cassidy hasn’t always lived in Token Creek, and few people know her full story. So she struggles with a nagging unsettledness in her heart. Cassidy’s friend Meg is married to a rancher and has a baby, something Cassidy wants for herself. But that would mean revealing the details of her life. Will Cassidy find the strength to take that risk? Book 1 in the Big Sky Dreams series. Average Rating:
![]() Rating: - Audio VersionI listened to the audio version of this book. Not only was the actual story very disappointing (I agree with most of the reviews here about the lack of plot, stilted dialog and being extremely preachy), but the reader did a terrible job! In audio books, the reader can make or break a story - and I could definitely tell that the lady doing the reading was not enjoying the book herself! She read it as fast as she could! She ran sentences together, didn't pause for breaks between scenes, didn't announce ... Read More Rating: - Okay, but lacked plotI enjoy (and even own) nearly all of Lori Wick's books. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with this one. The book seemed to lack a plot, and even when we did figure out the plot near the end of the book, it was rather uninteresting and dull. I really enjoyed the next book in the series, Sabrina. I'd say that Sabrina is one of my favorite of Lori's books. Rating: - CassidyI have really enjoyed many of the books written by Lori Wick, but this one was written in a very choppy way that did not flow. I enjoy books that share perspectives from the different characters, however in this book it jumped from character to character within each chapter and the depth of each character was not developed as well as the author usually does. I was looking forward to the fact that there were three books in this series but I probably will not order the next one. Rating: - Not the best Wick, but still enjoyableThe overall story of Cassidy was very romantic and contained some good action and suspense and I liked it. I did not like it as much as some other Lori Wick books I have read however. There was an awkwardness in the writing that I did not understand, every so often it would say "that lady" instead of "she" and it always made me stop and pause losing where I was because it stood out so much. I do look forward to reading Sabrina soon. Rating: - Oh so boring...I came to love Lori Wick about ten years ago when I first read "The Princess". I read and enjoyed many of her books after that, but lately, I've been continually disappointed. They're all the same! Predictable, boring, goody-goody, and unintelligent. I seriously feel as though I'm dumbing myself down to read them. The characters are so unrealistic...sugary sweet and unbelievably wholesome. Real Christians aren't like that 100% of the time. I prefer a more relatable character (like in "Pretense" for example). ... Read More Browse for similar items by category:
