 Rating: - A good book for beginning linux useThis is a good book for a beginning linux user who wants to explore the world of Ubuntu Linux. In 10 chapters it covers mainly desktop related tasks. Topics include; installing, using your applications, managing files, printers, multimedia, networking, and basic system administration. The book is written in easy to read and understand paragraphs, making it a good book for the novice user to get a strong grasp of the basics. Rating:  - This book was a big let downInstead of being called "The Official Ubuntu Book" it should have been called "The Computer Illiterate's Guide to Ubuntu". Basically if you know how to install an OS, partition a hard drive using a graphical utility, install applications using Synaptic/Adept, and change your desktop's wallpaper a lot of the technical information in this book you will probably already be familiar with if you've ever used a modern graphical operating system.
