Editorial Review: Product Description: After spending three London seasons searching for a husband, Daisy Bowman's father has told her in no uncertain terms that she must find a husband. Now. And if Daisy can't snare an appropriate suitor, she will marry the man he chooses—the ruthless and aloof Matthew Swift. Daisy is horrified. A Bowman never admits defeat, and she decides to do whatever it takes to marry someone . . . anyone . . . other than Matthew. But she doesn't count on Matthew's unexpected charm . . . or the blazing sensuality that soon flares beyond both their control. And Daisy discovers that the man she has always hated just might turn out to be the man of her dreams. But right at the moment of sweet surrender, a scandalous secret is uncovered . . . one that could destroy both Matthew and a love more passionate and irresistible than Daisy's wildest fantasies. ![]() Rating: - Not what I expected of Daisy's storyWhen kleypas penned the kissing scene between Daisy & Cam Rohan in Devil in Winter, I expected her to defy the convention of romance novels by introducing a totally unconventional hero in Cam Rohan for Daisy. Sadly, she felt oblidged to saddle daisy with a conventional hero in Matthew Swift. I was sorely disappointed because I so wanted to read something different but there just wasn't. I guess Ms Kleypas faltered when it came to defying the norm.... yet, Cam still sizzles more than Matthew. Rating: - It's just okay... YawhIn the story of the final Wallflower, Daisy, I think her story was just okay. It didn't help that the story before was Devil in Winter, a favorite for all romance readers. I found myself a bit bored with Daisy's story. I think there was not a huge focus on the couple, but involved previous Wallflowers, which did not work in the connection between the two. Some moments in the story were amusing, the key incident and I think that the ring was so romantic! Unfortunately, the story was forgettable, but it's ... I was quite surprised at how much I did like her. The story was very funny and romantic. I loved that both characters realized very early on how they felt for each other but didn't let on to the other. Matthew was a great tortured hero and it wasn't overdone like some other books. He loved Daisy, he knew he couldn't have her and there wasn't a lot ... Read More Rating: - Loved it!I thought that it was a fun and charming end to a fabulous series! Lisa Kleypas always delivers such wonderful stories with exciting and charismatic characters! Rating: - Very sweet, serviceable "Scandal""Scandal in Spring" is a sweet little novel about two very nice and likable people. The plot offers no unexpected twists and the novel is conventional and predictable, but the heroine and the hero are such likable and interesting people that it's not hard at all to keep interested in the story. Daisy Bowman is the last of the "wallflowers" to match up with a man and get married. She's intelligent, kind, and whimsical, amusing and insightful, and despite her romantic, dreamy nature, is also ... Read More Browse for similar items by category:
